Rules
Defaults for games hosted here:
- All games are run under host unless annotated that they are run under
phost.
- Players may turn on The Q to play for them in case they miss a turn.
The default is off at the start of a game.
- The Q may play for open races and players that drop out of a game.
- Invasion games use the noallies addon except on team games.
- Games end as determined by Ref configurations or AutoScore.
- Game schedule will not be changed once the game has started.
- Host will not be turned back to previous turn unless fault of host.
- If host fails to run on time and causes late mailing of .rst files,
host will be delayed until next regularly scheduled run time.
- If host plays in a game, his race will be chosen after at least 6
players have chosen their races.
- Host game automated system supports either MIME or UUE formats for
file attachments. The default is MIME. If you need UUE, you have to
tell us. .trn files must be in the playerX.trn filename, where the X is
your race number, in order for the automated system to process them. Do
not send .trn files zipped. If your mailer says you are sending your file
using MIME and you get error messages, change your mail program as some
mailers put in useless header information which confuses some industry
standard developed programs. Win 95
email works, Netscape email works, some Spry email versions do not work.
- Phost game automated
system supports UUE format only for file attachments.
- Host runs are not halted due to holidays.
- Player email addresses which cause bounced emails and mailer timeouts
will be cause to delete that player immediately.
- Players that fall below a 70% reliability rating will be blocked from
using the auto-signup system and may not play in team or ranked games.
- Players need to use real email accounts and not accounts from hotmail,
yahoo and other similar services.
For better games:
- Host run schedules are not changed during a game. It ticks off other
players that signed up for that schedule.
- Players don't like quitters, so if your reliability rating falls
because you miss turns...
- Don't sign up then quit because you don't like your starting position
or the first dozen or so turns don't go well for you.
- Don't use hotmail, yahoo, etc for email. Too many cheaters ruining
the game by using bogus accounts and playing multiple races.
